You've trained for years. You're in top mental and physical shape. You've been waiting for the opportunity to finally experience space travel yourself, maybe even since you were a small child.

Surely, something as unnecessary and totally avoidable as getting hammered wouldn't come up as a significant problem on the day of the launch, and if ever, certainly on no more than one occasion.
