According to Yahoo News, a study performed by the Pacific Institute of Research revealed that children from 2 to 4 years old that were spanked scored 5 points lower on an IQ test versus their unspanked counterparts.  Children from ages 5 to 9 who were spanked scored an average of 2.8 points lower than unspanked children in the same age group.

A new study is being coordinated right now to see if spanking has the same effect on adults who are 18 years old and up.  Female volunteers are needed.  Email me for details. 

Americans are stressed out due to the massive layoffs happening recently.  Since the recession started, calls to crisis prevention lines and psychiatric lines are up 30 percent.

An Arizona State Police Officer stopped a 2002 Mazda for improper display of license plate near Tonopah, Arizona on Saturday and noticed "some unusual behavior" from the Phoenix couple in the car.   A strong odor of marijuana led the officer to have a canine to sniff out the vehicle.  The canine eventually found a 14 pound bag of hydroponic marijuana valued at over $56,000.  Police then arrested the couple: a sixth grade teacher and her husband.

This couple was totally irresponsible.  They should have made sure their license plate was displayed correctly.

The Labor Department reports that the number of laid-off workers currently receiving unemployment benefits is at an all-time high of 4.99 million.  Last year only 2.77 million people were on unemployment.
