Biography:
Growing up in Franklin, Louisiana, Jay Alonzo always found an audience for his "Telling it like it is" brand of comedy. Encouraged by frustrated naval officers and laughing naval shipmates and marines, he entered a local comedy club's amateur contest and walked away first place winner. His family, friends, and spirituality are his sources of inspiration for his continued comedic endeavors. Jay Alonzo just wants to entertain and to see people smile through comedy. Moreover, over ten years of hilarious performances, comedic genius, Jay Alonzo has continued to entertain audiences from coast to coast with return engagements to clubs throughout San Diego and his home state. With a unique talent for improvisation and characters, his performances have been described as hilarious. He has been called a cross between Richard Pryor and Steve Harvey. His material touches on everything from family life and everyday situations to some of the more absurd observations of the world around us. Jay Alonzo's comedy empowers you and make you think about what life is really about in funny instances. Jay Alonzo is "Telling it like it is"...and welcomes everyone in his presence to enjoy and to laugh. Jay Alonzo has opened acts for many established comedians to include a few: Honest John, Toby Hicks, Lonnie Love, Shang, Bobby Law, Da Wildcat, Tracy Tedesco, Meechie Hall and a various number of upcoming talent around the nation. During his few moments, he enjoys writing, reflecting, and praying. Resides in Atlanta, Georgia. But,coming to a city near you soon.
