WASHINGTON - January 20, 2009 will bring a close to any support for Bush 1.0 ("Poppy"), Bush 2001 ("Dubya") and Bush 2004 ("Doorman") as a part of the ACME Droids Lifecycle Policy, the company stated today in a brief press release. ACME Droids will retire public and technical support, including security updates, by this date.
Despite numerous speechwriter patches and Secret Service Pack releases over the years, the company has failed to develop an artificial platform advanced enough to replace political leadership and decision-making based on human intelligence.
ACME Droids is retiring support for these products because they are outdated and can expose citizens to security risks. They recommend that voters who are still trusting the legacy Bush droids upgrade to a newer, more secure human leadership as soon as possible. Customers who upgrade will experience improved security, richer functionality, and increased productivity.
This press release puts a definitive end to the rumours that ACME had plans to launch an ex-President model (Bush XP) of the droid.

In regard of who should become the next president of the USA, the "who do you want to answer the phone at 3 am" ads are rather irrelevant.
Between midnight and 5 am, the White House red phone line is always answered by Jampur Call Center, India. And has been for the past 8 years.

I thought I'd share this as well. Something I wrote and recorded in January 2008, being a bit tired of waiting for Eddie Izzard to do some touring in Europe again. Just a couple of days after I put this one out with some edited Izzard show clips on YouTube, he came on short notice to London for a few "Work in progress" gigs, preparing for the ongoing "Stripped" show which he has just started touring with in the US.
Coincidence? Of course not. Pure summoning effect, if you ask me.
Never underestimate the power of the Norse.
Original music by Swedish singer-songwriter Marie Bergman.

Ever got a catchy tune stuck in your head? Unable to make it go away?
One form of therapy can be to try make something creative out of it. Add a few sound samples from one of your favorite comedians, stir it in an audio application, and voila! Closure!
Eddie Izzard sound samples from the magnificent Heimlich Maneuver routine in his Dress To Kill show (1999).
Original melody is Letkiss Jenka by Rauno Lehtinen.
