Bill Clinton traveled to Kosovo this weekend for the unveiling of a bronze statue of him, made by Albanians thankful that he killed Serbs.

The Jimmy Carter Presidential Museum reopened this month after a major renovation that shifted emphasis to his post-presidency, since those were the years when he accomplished the most. After he dies there will be another renovation, to highlight how much more good he’ll be accomplishing than when he was alive. [more]

Hollywood has come to the defense of Roman Polanski.Whoopi Goldberg said that what he did wasn't "rape-rape"; Anjelica Huston said the 13-year-old he molested seemed like "one of those little chicks" who could be 25; and Debra Winger said the whole thing is ancient history and "we look forward to the release of his next masterpiece."

Director Roman Polanski was arrested in Zurich this week. Interestingly, his victim Samantha Geimer, who successfully sued him years ago, supports Polanski’s bid to have the case dismissed, saying she just wants to put the whole thing behind her.

On Tuesday, God lost his battle to keep Ted Kennedy away from him. Mary Jo Kopechne has been waiting a long time for this reunion with her killer.
While God is deciding what to do with this latest drop-off — recycle it or throw it in the landfill — Ted will be going through purgatory at the bottom of Poucha Pond. Which, apparently, was only seven feet deep. And yet he couldn’t “risk” his Kennedy-minted life to get the girl out.
Most news reports mention the incident and then quickly move on to all the good that he did: “[H]e worked to protect civil rights, give federal help to the poor, contain the spread of nuclear weapons, raise the minimum wage, expand health coverage and improve America's schools.”

While the gay community is good at dishing it out, apparently it can't take any ribbing back.
About a photo shown in the upcoming Bruno movie of a baby sitting in a hot tub where two men are having sex (only two?), GLAAD senior director Rashad Robinson said, "As someone who sat at the back of a focus group audience outside of Los Angeles, I felt they were laughing at us at times."
God forbid gays should be comedy targets like the rest of us! Geez, you'd think if anyone should be OK with being the BUTT of the joke...

A slice of life, literally, from “moderate” Egypt as Muslims go hog wild on the country’s pigs: Pig cull YouTube video sparks outrage

...The clip posted by independent newspaper Al-Masri Al-Yom includes gory images of pigs being beaten with iron bars, piglets being stabbed and animals being kicked alive into bulldozer buckets...Although no case of swine flu has yet been detected on its territory, Egypt is the only country in the world to have decided to kill all its pigs, estimated to have numbered around 250,000 before the cull began.

In the video, Mohamed el-Mugharbil, deputy mayor of Kashkus near Cairo, describes how chemicals are also poured on animals caged in trucks, leading to a slow death...“Only the males are killed in accordance with the rules,” said journalist Heba Nasreddin, while “the piglets and sows are hit with an iron bar and left to bleed to death”.
For those who are fighting their urges to pour acid on their wives, girlfriends or sisters, the pigs are giving them an opportunity to get this out of their systems. Especially since pig flesh tears very similarly to human flesh (by virtue of pigs being descended from Jews), which is why pigs and Jews are used for all kinds of killing practice.

Other pictures obtained by AFP show pigs which have been disembowelled but whose throats have not been slit.
