Litchfield, CT (AP) -- Four Connecticut teenagers have pleaded guilty to going on a three-town
crime spree that authorities say was inspired by a joke by comedian Dane Cook. Officials say the teens smashed mail boxes and threw rocks through some windows, enacting a joke Cook made on an HBO special about committing a "B&E," or breaking and entering.
In their defense, the teens say they actually got the idea from another bunch of teens, and just changed it around a little bit.

NBC has launched the latest season of televised comedy competition Last Comic Standing. The winner will receive $250,000 and an all new 2008 Honda Pilot, which NBC will have the option of turning into a 2009 Honda Series.

DANBURY, Conn. - Fire officials said a cigarette started a fire that damaged a Danbury nail salon. The cigarette pleads innocence, claiming it was in Cannes with Sean Penn at the time.

BRANFORD, Conn. -- Police were called to a Dollar Tree store in Branford late Friday on a report of an armed robbery. They immediately went after the suspects, searching all strip clubs within a 10-mile radius.

 MARCH 20 -- On St. Patrick's Day, Ohio cops seized crack cocaine that had been dyed green, apparently in recognition of the holiday. As seen in the evidence photo, the emerald green crack was packaged in small plastic bags.
I guess this means this weekend's Easter Crack Hunt is off.

 In Toluca Lake, near the Warner Bros. studio, striking writers converged on a house serving as a location shoot for "Desperate Housewives."
"We write the story-a, Eva Longoria," about 30 strikers chanted, referring to a star of the hit ABC show.
Added a WGA union rep, "We would have written a much better thing to chant if we weren't on strike."

A Florida teen used his martial arts training to protect his family after a chainsaw-wielding intruder broke into their home.
The family has sold the film rights to their story to Cinemax. The movie is expected to debut some random Saturday night at 3 AM.
