A neighbor backed his vehicle over his best friend's dog (he had served with him in Vietnam and the best friend had recently lost his wife) The neighbor had backed over the only thing his best friend had left in the whole world that he truly loved. His dog.

        So the neighbor bundled the dog in his vehicle and proceeded to the nearest vet's office and assured the doctor that money was no object---- just save the dog's life.

          The doctor spent some hours in the operating room and when he came out after surgery he informed the distraught neighbor that there was good news and bad news. The good news was that the dog would live but the bad news was that he had to amputate the four legs.
