This is the second time this month the federal government has rescued a troubled private company.  Today the government will announce it is bailing out the New York Mets by adding a couple arms to the beleaguered bullpen. 

On Tuesday, Oprah Winfrey announced on her show that coupons for a free KFC Grilled Chicken dinner would be available on her website.  The giveaway was an overwhelming success. In fact, AIG alone received $30 billion in chicken dinners.

Wagoner was forced to resign because he didn't make the grade.  Wagoner is now considered a leading candidate to head AIG.

A southeastern Missouri man is expected to be reimbursed for about 1,000 dollars in bills that were munched on by rats. He left the 20-dollar bills in an unzipped vinyl bag on his desk; the bag was misplaced during the ice storm last winter and the flooding in March. He eventually found the bag and took it the First Missouri State Bank in Jackson in hopes of covering his losses. The bank manager said that she and two staffers picked through the rat droppings and bird feathers and reassembled the bills.  In a related story, AIG announced a new company slogan  “We’ll take your money and turn into crap.”

Thieves calling themselves “The Educators” have returned a statue stolen from disgraced investment guru Bernie Madoff. And they hoped his learned his lesson. The Palm Beach Post reports that the 10,000 dollar copper sculpture turned up Wednesday near the country club Madoff belonged to. A note attached read “Bernie the Swindler, Lesson: Return stolen property to rightful owners. Signed by – The Educators” A Madoff spokesman made it clear: lessoned learned. Madoff reported the sculpture stolen. In fact he just received a check from his insurance company, AIG. The checks amount, 1 billion dollars.

The widow of producer Aaron Spelling is placing the mansion on the market for a jaw-dropping $150 million, making it by far the most expensive home for sale in the U.S.   So far the only prospective buyers are three AIG executives.

It was revealed that President Obama had sent more than 80 copies of  the book, "My Life As Vlad The Impaler," by Vlad to all the 'bonus greeders.'

GM boss Rick Wagoner was forced to resign because he didn't make the grade.  Out of habit AIG paid him a bonus.
