Not long ago, Joe Biden told this guy in a wheelchair to stand up and take a bow.

   Understandably, Biden withstood a torrent of jeers and criticism for the obvious gaff.

   Some rock-ribbed Republicans went so far as to characterize Mr. Biden's behavior as "sheer cruelty."

   A few diehard Democrats posited that the Vice President--being a believing Christian--may simply have been trying to heal the man.

   Both these groups were kidding--I think.

Bill Clinton plans to visit Capitol Hill today to discuss health care legislation with Senate Democrats.  Clinton wants to be sure that any health care bill covers STD testing.

George W. Bush is now a "motivational speaker".  He's apparently quite successful at it too; his first talk motivated the audience to register as Democrats and stop pronouncing it "Nuke-ya-lure".

They aren't stupid.  Senate Democrats  know if they don't pass a health care bill,  they are going to need those jobless benefits.

In a joint speech to Congress, President Obama called to both parties to help fix the nation's ailing health care system. President Obama asked both Democrats and Republicans to submit proposals that address the health care problems in America.    The opposing Republican’s suggested creating a panel to determine whether this bill should live or die.  

Sen. John Ensign of Nevada claims his parents gave $96,000 to his mistress and her family.

 Eliot Spitzer spent about $100,000 on his hooker over ten years or so and Senator Ensign spent $96,000 in one day. And the Republicans clam to be more fiscally responsible than Democrats.

There is no power-sharing deal between the Democrats and Republicans in the NY State Senate, however the NY Times says there’s a thaw between the two bickering parties. After the Democratic and Republican leaders met with Governor Paterson Friday, the Times noticed, "There was a lightened mood — after weeks of insults and accusations that have shattered the chamber’s usual decorum — and suggestions of progress, however halting."

Unfortunately, what both the Times and the blind governor failed to realize was that Paterson had been speaking to an empty room.

Rush Limbaugh on Friday suggested a health care proposal will be named in memory of Sen. Edward Kennedy, who is battling brain cancer.   And the defense budget will be named after Rush Limbaugh since it contains a lot of fat.
